As Senior Project Manager, I was responsible for managing matrix IT & business teams to deliver a variety of business and technology projects to time, cost and quality deliverables.
Key projects encompassed: post acquisition merger activities, corporate de-merger, data centre moves, Billing and CRM replacement Trial management, new product launches and go to market activities, implementation of LLU (local loop unbundling) and customer experience enhancement programmes to name but a few.
IPTV Portfolio Manager
Reporting to the Programme Director, I was accountable for end-to-end management and delivery of TalkTalk’s internal IPTV programme with my key objective being to bring a next generation TV product to market. I was responsible for a £10 million opex and £2.5 million capex budget and held direct line management accountability for project managers, business analysts and a project management office to deliver multiple functional and non-functional work streams.
I took a 9 month break to travel across Russia, Africa, Asia and America before re-locating back to Australia from London.

I successfully governed, mentored, and managed 4x project managers to deliver opex and capex reduction initiatives delivering a 20% reduction of peak busy hour data traffic traversing the VHA network, MMS platform upgrade, 3 and Vodafone voicemail platform convergence and new mobile products and services.

YouView a joint venture between BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, BT, and TalkTalk with an award-winning UK TV service, combining Live TV, On Demand and cutting-edge technology to bring our viewers the most brilliantly simple way to find and watch the TV they love. Reporting to the CEO, I played a key role in YouView’s executive leadership. Accountable for a ~£6 million annual budget I built and led a team of 45x people across Operations, Delivery, Cloud Services, New Initiatives and Partnership and Account Management teams to deliver our annual business strategy and 5-year mission. I was primarily accountable for transitioning YouView’s operating model to its future as a SaaS business and for driving and delivering maximum value from operational teams to deliver lasting change through continuous improvement of all internal processes and methodologies.
Origin Media Measurement
Origin is ISBA’s programme to deliver accountable digital and cross media measurement and is part of a global, advertiser led initiative, backed by the World Federation of Advertisers. The aim is to drive benefit to consumers through a better experience of advertising and better value for advertisers through improved effectiveness and efficiency in the media marketplace. The UK framework and implementation will be a blueprint for further international market adoption.

I liked learning more about what the world would be like post school so I took business studies and tourism as I was unsure of what I wanted to do when I was in the last years of school

Once I found what I was interested in; project management, leadership and management of teams I quickly focused on this path and the supporting professional education. I completed an AMPM certification, scrum master certification and recently focused on leadership courses at London Business School and am in the process of completing my MBA. I have used a mentor and professional coach throughout my career and both were invaluable in helping me see my path and go after it.
I had no idea what I wanted to do when I was at high school. I took a variety of subjects that interested me but I had no clear path. I decided not to go to university and instead took a vocational course at TAFE in business studies to further explore my interests and keep my options open.
If I was starting out again I would've liked to have gone to university. I was unsure of what I wanted when I was younger and then found my passion and strengths in project management and leadership as my work life progressed. My education has always felt limited and so in 2019 I decided to undertake an MBA to challenge myself and broaden my skills and knowledge.
