Cabin Crew travelling the world and experiencing new cultures and getting to do this through work was a dream come true. However it is a way of life as opposed to a career and when I was no longer able to do this I was worried about the skills I had for the workplace and now realise that through every job role you have a lot of skills sometimes you just don't realise and a career advisor was able to show me that I did.

I'm now a working mum with 2 boys and a busy lifestyle. I have had an unusual career path which often people are fascinated by and through my working life I have been given amazing opportunities and I have grabbed every one . I would never believe back at school where my career path would lead and I will never regret any choices I made. I think its important to find out what your good at and to never be afraid to take chances and opportunities. If you get the chance to travel do it and if like me you get the opportunity through work to learn new skills or gain new qualifications take it. It's a win win for you and your employer. Take note of things you achieve and milestones and never be afraid to blow your own trumpet and be confident and don't regret your decisions learn from them.

More about me

Good Communication skills and ability to work in a team is a must. Very important is always to be a positive team member who most definitely needs to readily adapt to changing situations and procedures and always have a flexible approach to workload. I also have natural attributes through my studies and employment experience i.e. analytical problem solving, planning, and research and very good IT skills combined with my work ethic. Every day is different Coordinating with 3 departments within a team as well as the other teams within the business . I also as First Aid Trainer and Assessor ensure to keep up to date with any changes to First Aid or health and safety regulations.

I started out on a journey initially wanting to be involved in science however quickly realised that whilst I loved the subject matter applying that in a job role didn't suit me. I was definitely destined to work in an industry where people skills were high on the agenda as I'm a people person. However as I learned through joining engineering that STEM subjects particularly support roles need people with good people skills but also technical ability.

I wanted initially to go into Pharmaceutical industry as I enjoyed work experience opportunity I had at school and hoped to move into that sector.

If I was to do things differently I would maybe have taken more advice and if possible some aptitude tests to find out where my strengths were before choosing my subject to study at university. Although to be honest I don't regret any decisions I made and I'm a great believer in you will find your place in life if you continue to challenge yourself and believe in yourself .
