Meet the team

Donna’s mission is to empower girls everywhere to make more informed career decisions. Prior to Modern Muse, Donna was a Director at everywoman, an organisation that works to advance women in business. In this role, she launched a personal development platform for women looking to progress their careers. Today, the platform has over 29,000 members in more than 100 countries. Donna started her career as part of InterContinental Hotel’s global sales team and was a member of its European leadership team.

Youth Board members

Having achieved a first-class honours degree in Cultural and Media Studies, Bella is currently studying for her Masters in Film, Photography and Media at The University of Leeds and is the Digital Associate Editor for The Gryphon Newspaper. Bella chairs the calls and meetings for the board provides guidance for board members who develop the monthly newsletters and resolves any issues that might arise outside of meetings. Bella helps and ensures the board members perform to the best of their ability and get the most out of volunteering for the charity. Whilst chairing the board Bella is also the Social Content Creator and manages all the Modern Muse social media platforms.

After achieving a first-class honours degree in BA Business Management, Ashlyn went on to join the Lloyds Banking Group 'transformation' graduate scheme within IT before progressing to Business Operations Manager. Ashlyn works on shaping and evaluating the Youth Ambassador Programme, reporting on its progress and development.

Having completed her apprenticeship at Specsavers gaining a Level 2 Diploma in Retail Optics, Chloe is currently an Optical Assistant and has enrolled onto the Level 3 Ophthalmic Dispensing Assistant course. Chloe connects and informs the board with our Director and Corporate Partner's monthly activities, reporting what is happening within Modern Muse on a broader scale.

Before becoming an Underwriter at Countrywide Legal Indemnities, Ellen completed her BSc in Environmental Sciences followed by an MSc in Science Communication at The University of Sheffield. Ellen edits the blog pieces once they have been written and creates the template for the monthly 'Girls Newsletter'.

Graciella is a final-year Sociology student at The University of Warwick and a Lloyds Scholar. An alumni of Sutton Trust US and the Social Mobility Foundation’s Aspiring Professionals Programmes, she is passionate about helping to inspire students with future steps. With Ashlyn, she will work on shaping our Youth Ambassador programme.

Whilst completing her apprenticeship at Specsavers, Henna manages the board's activities and plans and schedules the board meetings and calls to keep all the girls informed and connected. Henna creates an agenda for the agreed actions with everyone's responsibilities, compiling a monthly update for our Director.

The Microsoft website team

Sophie is studying Biomedical Engineering at the University of Reading. She's doing a year long internship at Microsoft as a Technology Solutions Professional (TSP) within dynamics and is aligned to health within the Customer Engagement sector. She is also involved in the DigiGirlz project which aims to get more young girls interested in Technology. In her spare time, she enjoys reading books and socialising with friends.

Amrit is studying Computer Science at the University of Huddersfield. She’s an intern at Microsoft and joined as technical specialist within Microsoft Technology Centre. She is involved in various projects such as training the volunteers at DigiGirlz events. She's excited to be part of Modern Muse's technical team and is also supporting Microsoft to recruit more Muses. In her spare time, she enjoys playing football, socialising and travelling. She is also passionate about getting young girls involved in STEM projects.

Jalal Uddin is a Computer Science student at Aston. He is currently embarking on a year-long industrial placement as a Cloud Solution Architect at Microsoft. His role entails deploying cloud strategies for strategic customers. He is passionate about smartphone technologies and getting people interested in tech. In his spare time, he enjoys playing football and going on hikes. He is excited to work with the Modern Muse team and help them achieve their goals.

Serena Samra studies Computer Science at Newcastle University. Her role in Microsoft is a Cloud Solution Architect (CSA) aligned to SAP/Communications and Media. She works with customers to help develop cloud solutions that suits the needs of their businesses. One her interests is advocating young women to get inspired and involved in Technology. In her spare time, she enjoys kickboxing, socialising and traveling. She is passionate about making an impact this year in Modern Muse and plans to develop the website to be its very best!

The Microsoft recruitment team

Caitlan began at Microsoft on a Level 3 Apprenticeship in September 2017. Caitlan has previously attended a year of University, before wanting to go into the place of work nbsp; She is now starting a Chartered Management Degree Apprenticeship at Microsoft continuing as a Technical Account Manager. Caitlan is enthusiastic about growing young girls thoughts of what STEM careers are and what routes they can take, having taken two different paths already!

Lily is a degree apprentice at Microsoft and works as a Cloud Solution Architect within the Customer Success Unit at Microsoft. In her role, Lily develops and deploys cloud solution strategies such as adoption plans and designing architecture. As the Microsoft lead for Muse Recruitment, Lily is passionate about inspiring and empowering girls and women to succeed in whatever industry or subject they choose. In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor sports, such as hiking and gorge walking, as well as socialising with friends.

Tom is an Apprentice acting as a Service Delivery Manager within Microsoft Services. His role is essentially an advanced customer service for consumers of Microsoft services. It's his role to expand the customers business and remediate any issues they might face with our products. Having had exposure to a number of large retail consumers of Microsoft products, Tom is keen to make an impact with the Muse project to make a change for women in STEM subjects and workplaces across the map. Tom tries to keep himself busy in his spare time with a range of sporting activities, including cricket, badminton and football and he is a keen festival enthusiast during the summer months!

Noah is a Microsoft degree apprentice within the UK Customer Success Unit. Noah's role is a Cloud Solutions Architect (CSA), he also has previous experience as a Sales Operations Program Manager. In his previous role, Noah would serve the many commercial business stakeholders which he hopes he can translate into skills that can be utilised to support and drive Modern Muse recruitment. As a CSA, Noah designs cloud architecture to modernise, transform and scale customers to meet ever growing business needs. In his spare time, he can be found developing programs or building networks and this passion for technology has lead him to follow a technical path. Outside of work, Noah focuses on the art goal achieving and enjoys listening to key motivational speakers. He also enjoys going to the gym and his jiu-jitsu club.
Tom is an Apprentice at Microsoft sitting within OCP, using Incentives to drive Partner's business growth. As a Partner Incentive Analyst communication and readiness is at the centre of what he does every day, hopefully these skills can be utilized to serve Modern Muse well and promote the cause of helping women in STEM subjects. Outside of work Tom enjoys playing football, Mixed Martial Arts and travelling.

Josh began Microsoft on the apprenticeship scheme in September 2018 as a business excellence manager in Services. He is very passionate about technology and getting everyone to have an equal chance of joining the business area. In his spare time, he plays rugby and ice hockey. Josh is very excited to work with Modern Muse and help promote the charity to many school girls!

Joel is a business degree apprentice at Microsoft coordinating the business side of a specialist sales department. He runs communications in the department and is involved in monthly forecasting. Joel is passionate about equality in the workplace and believes that a diverse team will always be more effective and successful as different perspectives lead to more original ideas. In his spare time Joel enjoys photography and cooking.

Kenny is a Digital Marketing apprentice within the Social Team at Microsoft. His role involves creating content for the social channels, alongside community management in which he deals with incoming customer queries through the channels. Kenny is extremely passionate about technology and is excited to be able to have the opportunity to be able to empower girls and women through the modern muse programme. Kenny enjoys sports such as Football and Basketball in his spare time.

Inushka started her journey at Microsoft in September 2018 as an Apprentice in CMO. Her role as a Data Analyst means she gets insights on all commercial campaigns. She frequently gets involved with the Story Telling Blogging Champions and some aspects of the Digital Social Scheme. her previous job at Halifax Bank really helped her to do something out of her comfort zone and she hopes to do the same for young school girls and encourage them to sign up to more STEM subjects.
